What they learn
More than kicks and punches
Listening
Games that reward stopping, looking and listening: the same skills preschool and kindergarten teachers ask for.
Balance and coordination
Kicks, rolls, jumps and obstacle courses that build strong, coordinated little bodies.
Confidence
Shy kids find their voice with a big kiai. Every class ends with a win they can be proud of.
Respect
Bowing in, saying “Yes, Sensei” and waiting their turn quickly become habits, at the dojo and at home.

An amazing Dojo with excellent instructors. Safeguard was initially recommended to me for my oldest who has ADHD and struggles with impulse control and going here has helped him so much. Both of my boys love Sensei Troy. He is patient and kind and always makes it fun for them.

Troy is fantastic with the kids. He is friendly and patient and is always willing to help out. His volunteers that help in the classes go above and beyond making sure everyone is having fun and participating. Kids always look forward to class and would recommend if you are looking for a great spot in Langley for karate.

Our son has been attending since 2017 and has grown in confidence, strength, ability and has found a social connection as well. The Dojo is always clean and well equipped. They teach more than just the martial art. There is also a focus on empathy, knowing wrong from right, plus the importance of community and of perseverance. We have a deep trust in their commitment to safety.

Questions
About Tiger TOTS
Is my 3-year-old ready?
If your child can join a group activity for 30 minutes and follow simple instructions, they’re ready. If you’re not sure, book the free class and see how they do. There’s no pressure either way.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes. The parents’ viewing area looks right onto the mat, and most parents watch every class.
What should they wear to the first class?
Comfortable clothes they can move in, and a water bottle. Karate is barefoot on our padded floor.
Your first class is waiting.
Book online in about a minute, or call and talk to Sensei Troy.
