Privacy policy

Safeguard Martial Arts and Kickboxing (“Safeguard”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and how we look after it. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
- Trial bookings and memberships. When you book a class, you go to Gymdesk, our booking and membership system. Gymdesk collects the details on its form (such as name, email, phone and date of birth) so we can confirm your class and run memberships.
- Messages. If you send a question through the form on our contact page, email or call us, we receive the details you choose to give us.
- Basic visit data. Like every website, our host keeps standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
- How the site is used. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit, how they found us and when someone taps to book, call or email. It uses cookies and doesn’t tell us who you are. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on.
How we use it
We use your information to book and confirm classes, answer questions, run memberships and billing, and keep our students safe. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone except the services that help us do these things.
Services we use
- Gymdesk for bookings, memberships, payments and the contact form. Pages with class times also ask Gymdesk which classes still have room, so your browser connects to Gymdesk when they load. See Gymdesk’s privacy policy.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Google Analytics, for visit statistics. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Google Maps, when you follow a link for directions.
These services may store information outside Canada.
Photos and video
We sometimes take photos and video in class to share on this website and our social media. We only use images of students with consent, and you can ask us to remove an image at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below.
